Hot August Nights...

With this weather being extremely hot these days, it means not going outside until 8pm at night. Which means we go for a run after dinner, after bath and go for a stroll. It's been nice as the first night was nice, by the third night we were all sweating! Yikes yucky yucky humid HOT weather!

Team USA...

With the world cup all over the TV lately, D is loving Soccer. When it goes to commercial "Where did soccer go"?

This special day daddy and d were chilling on the bed having a little father / son time and watching the game.

I love my boys!

Go Red, White & Blue!

Watering fun...

The little helper that our dude is, he saw me watering the plants and rinsing off the patio, that he decided to takeover.

He had fun. He would write with his chalk then wash it off. And water the plants so much they were drowning. but it was fun.

Dylan's 1st beach trip...

After a fun night, we were up an at em early in the morning to get ready for our day at the beach. Needless to say we didn't get on the road until noon. but it worked out perfect. D got to take a nap!

It's been a long while since we have been to surfside...at least 8 years. It was actually quite quaint and nice. I think I would rather make that trip than to Glaveston. Plus, my friend Amy's sister just bought a house there and we were told we could come anytime! awesome!

D had a fantastic time! immediatley took to the sand with all the toys grandma bought him. but then he found the water...and oh boy is he fearless! straight into the waves not a care in the world that it knocks him on the ground!

1st experience completely immersed in sand, salt and sun! It was fun and good times, can you tell?

Date Night...

Date nights are always fun and sometimes a first...

We had an evening out celebrating the marriage of a close friend of mine. It was a small, intimate party...and we got to see a old friend from high school and hang out with their fun extended family.

Sure enough the night ended with flip cup. Well, I guess I had had one too many b/c when I was asked to join in...I obliged!

I was the anchor girl...the one at the end. A rookie having to pull the weight, yikes! But Cody was oh so proud, I did it! I made us win every time!

It was a fun night with good times had with good friends.

Counting with "boo-berries"...

Our lil guys is obsessed with counting lately. Anything and everything and sometimes just out of the blue (literally)!

This night it was blueberries aka, in his world better known as, "boo-berries".
1-2-3-4-5-6-8...or better known as YUM!

Pure love!

I love my little man. and i swear with him being at home with daddy all day, he actually wants to spend time with me when i get home from work. before i left for the barn he came running up to me and said "Mama, I want a hug"! ahh...sweet sweet boy~

Then, I check my messages at work and he had called to leave me a message that said:

Hi Mama!

I wuv you!

bye bye!

Melted my heart and made me laugh out loud! I heart my lil man!

Fearless swimmer...

He loves the pool. no fear, jumps right in. to the point it scared me sometimes b/c i don't think he understands how dangerous it can be.

But last night he loved the pool time at grandpa and nina's instead of bath time.

Nne-na-na-na, two, three...go! jumping in out of the pool! he had a blast!\

Next up, swim lessons!

Big Boy potty!

So the dude has been waking up with wet diaper and getting more adamant about telling us when his diaper is dirty.

The other morning i bribed him that if he sat on the potty (b/c i knew he had to go) that he could watch his choo choo train show after he sat on the potty.

Low and behold a minute later he was pee pee-ing in the big boy potty! the look on his face was priceless!

Let's only hope that we can continue this great accomplishment!

Is it time for a big boy bed...?

Yep this boy is getting big.

Well this time he decided to take a plunge in the middle of the day out of his crib! :(

a few bruises and a request to go back in he was ok. My goodness. has he learned his lesson or do we really need to accept the fact he is growing up and let him have that big boy bed?

Our sports fanatic!

Daddy and D watching Team USA in the world cup.

Our lil guy loves watching sports...from football, baseball, basketball to soccer.

Happy face, Sad face...expressions!

Ok, I couldn't help myself at dinner the other night.

Sometimes he just says the darnedest things and well, makes the cutest...funniest faces!

So we decided to play a game of Happy face, sad face.

The pictures and video on my phone show a little more insight to how much fun we were having, but here are some cute...sweet and sad (not) photos! :)

We even caught daddy off guard and he just bursted out laughing...which in turn made D start giggling louder and harder. :)

Counting begins with one, two...

All I heard was daddy say "did you hear that?!" My reply was simply, "no, what?"

Well, we waited and there it was again.

D was sitting on the floor on his knees glaring at his toy and was saying to himself "one, two, three, four, five, six, seven...eight"!

Completely random and all on his own the dude was counting to 10! (ok, he only made it to 8...but still!)

Our lil smart fella.

Buckin' bronco...

Ok, so nothing like old toys. As a matter of fact, the dude really never really liked his little sit and spin pony.

But lately it has to be in the living room, and he jumps on it and rides and bounces and spins when I get home from the barn. As if he is jealous I get to ride my horse and he is at home.

Of course, not that he has seen mommy fall off, but he thought it would be fun to roll off of the pony and make a game of jumping off or catapulting off of it. Of course, I like to call it "bucking". :)

Our lil chatterbox...

Today, he said words that were pretty clear and concise...meaning you could hear what he was saying. He's become quite the chatter box lately, and its rather cute as you could imagine. Some of his favorite sayings:

guitar (simply stated gee-tar, followed by sound effects of ... well you could imagine)

hammer (almost always followed by the hand gesture of hammer and saying "knock, knock")

lawnmower (for a while this was mawn-mower)

One foot, two foot...

Simply said...he put his shoes on all by himself today AND on the correct feet! These days he won't wear anything but his crocs (and I have to say the first thing for him that he has to wear all the time every time). We even bought him a pair of new tennis shoes that he absolutely refuses to wear.

So, Crocs it is. Easy for us and easy for him. Being he has quite the stinky feet, they make for us cleaning them every night pretty easy.

And of course for him to put on himself. He'll match up the right shoe to the right foot and simply say "This one?" as though he is looking for approval.

What a big boy!

Memorial Day...

What a realxing day on this holiday.

It was made for good family time, pool time and just time to relax.

D as always had a great time in the pool. This time there were so many people around he couldn't get enoug of it. between 3 kids, Uncle Dave and mom and dad...there was plenty of attention to go around that he wouldn't get bored!

He had fun with the rings. He would throw each one in one by one to the deep end, then want them back in the hot tub to do all over again.

Gunnar chased dragon fly's and well...I took picures. go figure!

More fun to be had...

We met up with Bryce and his family at the neighborhood pool and the boys couldn't get enough of each other.

Then it was naptime for everyone!

Then dinner time, waterpark and more play time, then parent's get to hang out.

Pool time...

At the start of the Memorial Day weekend, we went to Colson's house to have dinner and swim.

I am absolutely amazed that Colson is almost 3 and is the best swimmer for his age. Dylan was all about it, and is fearless if you ask me...however, we've got to figure out this tube thing. Ear plugs, no ear plugs?

After dinner, the boys chased each other around the house and D mastered the art of driving the 4 wheeler. Now time to move on to the bigger one, b/c we told him "once you can drive" then we'll move up to the bigger one.

Of course it was yet another late night, but it was definitely fun!

Happy Birthday Nana!

It was a long night, but he was a trooper as usual.

We met Nana to celebrate her birthday...

He sat patiently and watch the kids play in the fountains...

He played peek-a-boo with Nana!

And out of the blue, the dude had to, demanded that he blow out the candle.

He wanted Nana to sing over and over the "Happy Birthday" song to herself, but he requested "again, again"?

He later found himself in the fountains...and at that age, can you blame them?

Sprinkler time...

It's HOT!

So with that one afternoon after work and school, we decided (while daddy finished up mowing the yard) to play in the sprinkler.

The dude had quite a good time. He loved to stand right in it and hold on to one of the "wiggly" arms and shoot them right at me. Of course the louder i made a big deal of it the louder and more giggles he laughed!

It was entertaining to say the least!

SUMMER IS HERE!

My horse, Liberty!

Ok, so I finally took some recent pictures of one of my favorite furry friends!

Here is my horse Liberty!

I got her some new rocked out jewelry for her bridle....so of course i had to take pictures!

What a cheese!

So, on this morning...if you couldn't tell, the dude was a happy camper!

He could not stop make faces at me, it was adorable!

A new found love...

And of all things...a HAT!

We were strolling the mall one Friday night and the dude found this hat in the "big kid" section of the store.

Needless to say we couldn't leave the store without purchasing it. That was a first...but I couldn't blame him, it is kinda cute!

He loves to have it on backwards and he'll wear it all the time.

Let me just say, before this hat, he refused to wear hats! Hated it!

I guess there is a new found love!

Our lil bookworm!

After D's ever growing and expanding love for books, and hearing about this great book club through a friend...I felt it was a good idea to sign up.

It's a stall tactic most nights...he'll bring 7 books to read and we have to read every single one of them. Every page and every word!

Of course he loves his new truck books, tractor book, and dinosaur book.

He's a fanatic and we are too.

I couldn't help but take a picture of him trying to read a few of them one day on the bed.
