I left my heart in San Francisco...

So we, THE family, packed up and headed for San Francisco a week ago. It's the first time our little one had been to California (besides the California side of Lake Tahoe). Unfortunately he didn't get to see all the touristy sites that San Francisco has to hold (but what the heck he is too little to know where he is anyway). But he did get to go to Cuckoo Grammy and Papa John's house for the first time. And oh what a playground that was!!! Something new and different and all kinds of experiences to see and explore.

I know I say this all the time, but he was a super star. Each and every day we were there he didn't get his long naps, rather he had more intermittent and short ones. But he adjusted well to the time change, some nights was up until 9:45 California time, which is 11:45 our time back home!

So this will be a short and sweet list of all the things we did in our 5 day trip to Cali.

Our dude met Aunti Vi in person for the first time, what an angel she is! He also got to meet many new kids at Auntie Vi's house (Wyatt, Austin, and Mia), all ranging in age, but one in particular gave him his first kiss on the cheek...Lil Miss Mia, you are adorable! He even gave out a little smirk. He loves children and loves to watch them, so they kept him pretty entertained.

He also had fun sitting in the big boy chair and CGR and PJ house, of course he was in his booster, but things fell a lot farther to the ground and sure were fun to throw. So CGR tied a string to all the utensils and toys to make sure they wouldn't go far.

He also one morning, while we were all talking and had our heads turned off of him for just a few seconds, managed to get into a stool. He had to have Houdini himself in there, but it was the cutest thing. He would stand up and his head would hit the top of the chair, he wasn't sure where to go once he got in, but he sure looked like a caged animal. :)

He also got to meet and play with George. What a teddy bear he is! If he was outside, Dylan wanted to be with him, if he was inside, Dylan wanted to crawl on him. They one morning decided (with daddy of course) to gather all of the miniature tennis balls and play with them. Dylan would have one or two in his hands and George would come over and take them away. D would look like, where did it go? All of the while George would try to put more than 5 in his mouth all at once. It was pretty cute to watch.

He also got to try out his Christmas present from CGR and PJ. His very own sled for the snow! Of course we used the carpet in the living room like it was snow, but he sure did have a good time. PJ and daddy would whirl him around as fast as they could. Just as I thought he would get sick, he would smile and giggle for more. Can't wait to use it in the snow...this was just a test run!

One other exciting thing, he got to the wine country for the first time and visit CGR and PJ cottage in Calistoga! What a gorgeous place! While we were there we met up with Nat and Tatum again, haven't seen Tatum since she was 3 or 4 months old! She is so cute! So our little guy got to play with her and interact...now I know what he does at daycare all day. He had a blast!

So...other than the plane ride home, where he fell asleep and slept the entire flight. It was a good trip, one that good times were had and memories were made.

It was great to see family that we hadn't seen in a while and meet new people who know of Dylan only thru pictures. They were finally able to put a sweet face with all those wonderful pictures. Unfortunately, we had to say goodbye to Uncle Caesar. He lived a long and happy life and was loved by anyone who had a chance to know him. He will forever be in our hearts!
