All that happens at Daddy Daycare!

So, on the second day of daddy day care...it was horribly raining outside and there was flooding all over Houston. I get a phone call from Cody saying we've had breakfast, we've colored, we've walked the house and it is only 9:30! Proceeded to say "this house is too small for a 1 year old who is all over the place"! The poor kid is so use to having the run of the mill at daycare with no worry about "don't pick that up, don't touch that or don't pull that"!

But they did end up entertaining themselves and having a great day. Daddy ended up teaching him to point at his belly button. He grabs his belly, then looks for reassurance and then sticks his finger in his belly button...all the while giggling at himself. Quite proud, I must say! He also, was caught red handed standing on top of his push car, with one foot on the seat and the other on the steering wheel while attempting to get on top of the end table! My goodness, what an adventurous boy! He is into anything and everything.

He is getting more comfortable with walking and becoming quite brave and letting go but takes one step and falls to the ground. The standing is huge! It was just all of the sudden. Last night, he had something in his hand and was just standing all by himself. I don't think he realized it, or maybe he did but it was a good 5-8 seconds of balancing all on his own. He sometimes doesn't even realize he is doing it.

Let's not forget that his new favorite toys are the plastic golf clubs we got him. He cannot separate with those things. So, needless to say he has gotten down the hitting of the ball pretty well. And Daddy has also taught him how to use "both" hands. He loves it, and thinks it is especially funny when Daddy or Mommy hit the ball in a cup. That is a giggling match waiting to happen!

The boys have fun and he definitely keeps daddy moving that is for sure! What a great time for the two of them to be spending together. I have a feeling that he will be the first one to see Dylan makes those first steps...so jealous!
