Independent, standing and soon walking?

Just an update on our little guy. He is still motoring around the house behind his walker, his beep beep, baskets, cars...he pushes even if it does or doesn't have wheels.

He of course loves to walk with you assisting him now. He wants to walk with you holding his hands. Days before it was the death of your fingers he was holding on so tight. But now, he actually almost lets go and wants our fingers/hands there for backup. If he is looking up and forward he walks great. If he happens to look down he loses all of his ways of balance. Almost always has his tongue out and a determined look on his face. You could walk from one end of the house to the other or in circles...and always always looks for a ball or anything to kick along the way.

When he is holding on to something he will let go not thinking about it, and lately within the past day he will let go for a few brief seconds, stands and then plops to the floor. I know the standing with balance and squatting thing needs and must come before walking...and really has had no interest. But like tonight, he would stand and we would make such a big deal of it, he almost kept trying to do it again and again to get the praise.

(Here he is helping drive daddy's truck...not really...but you know what I mean!)

We made a bet tonight with each other on when we think he will be walking. We give it a month, I say by the time we go for his one year pictures he will be walking! Which is perfect! (It rained so horrible this past Saturday his pictures were rained out...so the soonest we could reschedule with Rita was later in May). Maybe we could practice that sweet smile on command so this time we don't have to jump up and down for an hour trying to get that precious face we all love and know so well!

Anyway...so we give it a month...we as always will blog the moment we reach any milestones.
