Easter Cheer...

I was excited for Easter this year. Being D is older and gets the "hunting for the eggs" and the fact there is stuff inside game...and then the presents. He loved the fact that all the Grandparents had presents for him. All perfect in their own way!

We started out the day cuddling in bed! Nothing better...

Then headed over to Grandad's and Nina's for Egg's Benedict, egg hunting and play time. From the moment we walked in the door he said "hi" then started hunting. They were prepared! He found every egg, and up until the last one was not interested in opening them. Then he cracked it open...then got upset b/c Gunnar stole his candy. And yes, these eggs had chocolate! His first reaction, he spit out the M&M. He turned his head to the Malt Ball...then 20 mins later attempted to unwrap the Hershey kiss. Not such a great idea on white carpet. He put it in his mouth and then spit it out...yummy chocolate hands! Eventually he wanted every kiss there was. He got a cute basket that had a big red 4 wheeler type car toy. Of course, D being the creative one tried riding it. Then would chase the dogs with it.

Finally we had our yummy brunch and to our surprise, or maybe not, he loved Egg's Benedict! Ahh definitely from his mommy and daddy!

It was time to head to the house for nap time. Of course he didn't go down until 2 and all the Grandparents were showing up at 4. But he woke up happy! We managed to get the eggs hidden and his (other) basket filled with his toys. He was so happy to see all the grandparents in the house at the same time, I don't think he knew what to do but than show them the "backyard". Of course he headed straight outside, what he loves to do most and played in the dirt. He helped find all the eggs all over the yard. It was a bit more of a challenge this time being our yard is so big and we put them everywhere from corner to corner. And the golden egg...was his water bottle! He loves that thing, and once he found it, he had to clean his eggs. Silly goose!

It was a nice quiet, beautiful evening that we had dinner outside. Daddy made yummy fajitas and I believe we all enjoyed ourselves. It was nice to be in one place and yet get to see everyone and have everyone enjoy D at the same time (and not running around).

Happy Easter, everyone! We are so very blessed with our family and friends!
